Reviews

A huge thank you to Edwina, MaameYaa and BLAG! I really enjoyed spending time with you all tonight. Suya spice rocks. Added some sloe gin and fizzy water to the delicious zobo for an improvised cocktail on the side!

Edwina — thank you for your patience (especially given the sound issues) and for teaching us how to cook such delicious food! Have demolished the below. Have a great weekend all!

Thank you Edwina for the wonderful masterclass and delicious food — I had so much fun and feeling very full right now! I’ve attached a photo of my proud creations from this evening’s class.

Thanks Edwina, for having us! It was super fun and delicious. Will certainly be including the suya spice in my Asian cooking going forward.

I attended the Imperial Cookery Session last night and wanted to thank you for sharing your wisdom and passion for food and culture which shone through as you shared with us. I was the one asking about all the recipes. I realised that one of the reasons my food lacks flavour is the speed with which I cook and I really appreciated how you explained the flavours need to be layered which can only be done slowly. In the spaces between the cooking, I began to imagine poetry or myths/stories being shared to celebrate the heritage of the people, recipe, ingredients and what to serve it in (loved the bowl you used to serve the rice).

I noticed you do cookery classes, are these online?

PLEASE PLEASE do a cookbook and share the stories behind them.  No pressure 🙂

Thanks for igniting more passion into a VERY novice cook…

We thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the virtual cooking, it was a great group activity for our colleagues to get involved in. We had 19 people join and everyone commented on how much they loved it and they all felt engaged. The instructions were clear and we was able to ask lots of questions along the way. It was great to learn about the culture behind all of the recipes and flavours, and best of all the taste of the food was incredible, everyone’s favourite was the black bean hummus. Thank you very much.
